Quiet now...

I almost didn't spot this little tag... or whatever it is... at a smoky coffee shop in my town. It was written, with evidently some care, around the end of a handicap railing over the tank of the stalled toilet.

My wife thinks it's just someone's personal tag, but it's slightly more fun to consider it a direct order for anyone making too much noise in the stall.

You'd have to turn around and look over your left shoulder to see it... If you're turning around to look behind you in a stall, there probably is a chance of some noise going on.

What would be the command to stop making odor as well? That could have been on the other end of the railing.

There was some care and time taken with this one. The ALL CAPS strikes us first with directness, and the heavy strokes and embellishment bullets before and after the word add to the forcefullness of the message. We can also see the arch to the text to hug the curve of the surface.

This easily could have been written on the empty white wall above, so this extra time taken and attention to detail speaks a bit more to the desire to stand out and be a bit unique.

  1. I'm a little demented to begin with but my immediate thought of the "HUSH" tag was meant for something like' "Hush while I insert my pipe into your orifice.

    Great blog!
